Natural Herbs & For Hair Growth
I have been asked by several naturals about what are some of the different herbs they can incorporate in their hair care regimen to help with hair growth, so after much research I decided to compile a small list of some of my favorite herbs. The innate properties of these herbs can enhance the quality and condition of the hair and scalp. Now that more and more naturals are demanding more environmentally safe products for both themselves and their families, most are going back-to-basics for their hair care needs.
Fenugreek Powder-Kills bacteria and fungi presented on the scalp, prevents dandruff, strengthens the hair follicles and promotes hair growth.
Shikikai Powder- Is Rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, C, K and D which helps to nourish hair and keeps it healthy.
Amla Powder also known as Indian Goose berries- Is rich in vitamin C, E Iron and Phosphate. It helps to prevent hair loss, reduces premature graying, helps with hair growth. Amla powder also
has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Brahmi Powder- Nourishes and thickens the roots and strengthens the hair follicle.
Neem Powder- known for its medicinal properties, it is an effective herb to treat hair loss due to its antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, neem is an excellent way to curb dandruff. It helps the hair follicles to become stronger and also encourages hair growth.
Garlic- Garlic has anti-microbial properties that helps to kill germs and bacteria, which are responsible for causing damage to the scalp and further inhibiting hair growth. Raw garlic is known to be rich in vitamin C that is great for promoting hair-health. It also boosts collagen production that helps stimulate hair growth.
Ginger Root- Is an effective treatment for increasing blood circulation in the scalp to encourage new hair growth. It also helps to clear up skin irritation such as dandruff which interfere with healthy hair growth.
Horse tail- This herb helps to strengthen hair nails and bones. It it has been used for centuries to stimulate the blood vessels in the scalp that supplies oxygen to the hair follicles. It contains quercetin which protects new hair growth against breakage and damage.
Burdock root-Helps to increase blood circulation to the scalp which in turn improves blood flow to the hair follicles. It increase a high content of fatty acids that are necessary in the promotion of new hair growth. These fatty acids will actually help with thinning hair. grind burdock root and olive oil together in a blender, let it for 3-4 weeks and rubbing it on scalp is very beneficial.
Aloe Vera- Is Excellent for both the skin and hair, it is excellent in the promotion of hair growth. It helps by stimulating blood circulation along the scalp. Adding pure aloe vera gel on your scalp on a regular basis will help with hair growth. A great natural conditioning treatment to incorporate in your hair growth regimen is to add aloe vera gel and coconut milk- mix together and apply to your hair as a deep conditioning treatment.
Aritha Powder-Aritha has been used for centuries to prevent hair loss. Aritha helps maintains the hair and scalp natural pH balance. It contains saponins which thicken the hair and encourages hair growth.
Hibiscus Leave powder- Is packed full of anti-oxidants and vitamins that helps to improve the overall health of the scalp and hair. It is also a very effective treatment against dandruff which can interfere with healthy hair growth.
Henna Powder-Strengthens the hair follicle and nourishes the scalp. Henna has anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties which helps to control scalp itching. Henna is a natural hair dye and using it over time will thicken hair strands.
